WED WABBIT is a witty, laugh-out-loud 'down the rabbit hole' adventure full of heart.
The Story
Twelve-year-old Fidge isn’t scared of anything. And she hasn’t got time for hugs and feelings and all that wishy-washy stuff. She’s too busy trying to take care of her family, and especially her pocket tornado of a little sister, Minnie. But there’s a problem. A problem that comes in the shape of Minnie’s constant companion; her enforcer; her partner in crime… Wed Wabbit.
Yes, Fidge knows that Wabbit is just a badly stitched, slightly chewed, raggedy old comfort toy rabbit. But in the hands of her sister he’s also a bossy nightmare, seemingly intent on making life as difficult as can be. In fact, there are only two things that Fidge finds even MORE annoying than Wabbit. One of them is Graham, her pompous, spoilt cousin - a walking bag of phobias who refuses to leave his bedroom. And the other is “The Land of The Wimbley Woos!” – the absolutely inane pop-up book she’s had to read to Minnie approximately one million times.
So when a fateful decision, an unlucky accident, and a magical storm somehow trap Fidge inside the ridiculous cardboard world of those same Wimbley Woos - keen to sing songs and talk about their feelings all day long - it seems like things couldn’t get worse. Until she discovers that this daft, impossible realm is actually trembling under the dictatorial rule of Wed Wabbit – now enormous, bonkers, and hell-bent on keeping her there. And – just to really put the icing on the cake – it turns out her companions on this adventure are Cousin Graham, Cousin Graham’s ‘emotional support object’ - a talking plastic carrot, obviously - and Pink, an over-enthusiastic marsh-mallowy Wimbley Woo tour guide with a pathological love of hugging.
To escape this candy-coloured fever dream and get back home, Fidge faces a battle of wills with her furry nemesis. Along the way she’s going to have to accept that maybe she hasn’t got all the answers, maybe both Wimbley Woos and Cousin Graham aren’t as hopeless as they seem... and that maybe pretending she’s invulnerable isn’t the solution she thinks it is.
Based on the novel by Lissa Evans Wed Wabbit is a hilarious comedy that offers a fun adventure for the whole family while packing a heartwarming emotional punch.
