Bobby is a documentary feature set for release in the Summer of 2016 to help celebrate the greatest achievement in English footballing history: victory in the 1966 World Cup.
Bobby will tell the story of the nation’s most famous footballer. Directed by Ron Scalpello and produced by fellow award-winner Matthew Lorenzo, the film is being created in association with the FA and in aid of the Bobby Moore Foundation. Previously unseen footage will intertwine with old and new interviews including exclusive contributions from Pele and a host of international stars of the beautiful game and the entertainment world and beyond..
“Legend” and “Hero” are words too often used in the realms of sport, and life itself, but Bobby Moore deserves to be remembered as both. Peerless on the field, he faced a series of challenges off it. For the first time the full story will be told. His was a journey that reaches far beyond the parameters of a simple sporting tale. The Bobby Moore story is at heart a human one, as relevant in his homeland as it will be throughout the world. His was a life featuring triumph, tragedy and most of the emotions in between. BOBBY is a film which will do justice to a remarkable man, an icon whose legacy still resonates today.
